As people's habits change and technology still expanding, trends will never stay one way to long.
Past trends prove to us that Social Media Marketing is constantly changing. Use to be that social platforms were amazing for building visitors, that has slowly become less of a reality.
Facebook once use to be king of organic traffic, but it’s been slowly dying the past few years.
The organic traffic levels that can be reached are pretty much at the bottom of the above chart, compared to just a few years ago, and this was in 2016.
Why? Social Media platforms have become a “pay to play” trap, excluding new platforms like TikTok.
It's typical and proven that as a social media platform grows, ad revenue becomes their main focus.
And giving away organic traffic, isn't something they care to help with.
With that thought on your mind, it's best that you have both organic and paid posts on social platforms to really be successful in your marketing goals.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, moved to GA for a while as a little kid. Once around 8, my family moved to Kings Mountain, NC, then to Shelby, NC where I graduated and left for the Marine Corps. After getting out I lived in the Greer, Greenville, SC area for 20+ years. I began copywriting and building websites for larger companies and gave it a break. I've been back involved with my business now for the last 10 years, working to stay up on my knowledge of the internet and how fast it was changing. Furthermore, I'm skilled at many things in the Digital Marketing area but love Social Media Management & Blogging/Copywriting.
