Having the power start your week & control the outcome of your day may sound like an impossible feat, but it's pretty simple. And it's something that I've been doing for years. It amazes me how few people apply this to their lives because it is so simple and effective.
Now, I understand that some days are just crap and thus should also be acknowledged. But for the most part, we have absolute control over our days. We can choose to let a bad event ruin our entire day, or we can choose to move on and focus on the good. It's all about perspective.
If you're having a bad day, try changing your perspective. Instead of dwelling on the negative, try to find the silver lining in every situation. I guarantee you that by doing this, you'll start to see your days in a whole new light. And you'll be surprised at how much control you have over your life.
And the actual way to accomplish this, you ask?
It's Perception. Plain and simple. If you stop reading now, you will miss a very important life lesson that could change your future.
Perception is our understanding of what is taking place at any given time. It’s our interpretation of things, people, and events in our life. It is our outlook, our viewpoint. Our perception usually comes from our experience and our beliefs. It shapes how we see the world and react to what is happening around us. We must be aware of our perceptions and how they can impact our lives.
Perception can be positive or negative, accurate or inaccurate. It is essential to take the time to examine our perceptions to ensure that they are serving us well. When our perceptions are off, it can lead to misunderstanding and conflict. If we can understand and manage our perceptions, we can live more peaceful and fulfilling lives.
It's been said that we attract what we think about most. If we wake up each morning with a sense of dread about the day ahead, our day will likely be something to dread. Our thoughts create our reality, so we must focus on what we want to attract into our lives. To attract more happiness, we need to focus on happy thoughts.
How you handle an irate customer can make all the difference in diffusing or further escalating the situation. It is important to remember that the customer is always right, even if they are wrong. Perception is everything in these situations. The customer perceives that their issue is your fault and that you are the only one who can fix it, so it is crucial not to take things personally.
Listen to their concerns and defuse the situation with empathy and understanding. Thank them for bringing the issue to your attention, and assure them that you will do everything you can to help resolve it. This stance will help to de-escalate the situation and prevent it from escalating further.
It's human nature to lash out when we feel like we're under attack. When someone is critical or aggressive, our first instinct is to respond in kind. However, in many cases, the best course of action is to do the exact opposite. By maintaining our composure and responding calmly and professionally, we can defuse the situation and avoid escalating the conflict.
Perception is everything, and we convey confidence and authority by appearing calm and collected. This attitude doesn't mean that we should roll over and take abuse from others. But it does mean we should consider how we react in difficult situations. We can often diffuse tense situations and come out ahead by keeping our emotions in check.
Attitude is everything, as well. It shapes how we see the world and how the world sees us. When we perceive something as negative, it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. But what if we could change our perception? What if we chose to see the positive instead of seeing the negative? It may seem like a slight shift, but it can make a big difference in our lives.
We open ourselves up to new possibilities by choosing to see the positive. We become optimistic, and good things are more likely to happen when we are hopeful and optimistic. So next time a negative thought presents itself, consider shifting that thought into something positive. You may be pleasantly surprised at the overall outcome.

As always, Thanks so much for taking the time to find value in my article, Allen
Born in Spartanburg, SC, moved to GA for a while as a little kid. Once around 8, my family moved to Kings Mountain, NC, then to Shelby, NC where I graduated and left for the Marine Corps. After getting out I lived in the Greer, Greenville, SC area for 20+ years. I began copywriting and building websites for larger companies and gave it a break. I've been back involved with my business now for the last 10 years, working to stay up on my knowledge of the internet and how fast it was changing. Furthermore, I'm skilled at many things in the Digital Marketing area but love Social Media Management & Blogging/Copywriting.
